“Mountains calling” is something that’s been a thing of Summer but with the early onset of monsoon in Delhi, we are definitely missing out the food from the Phahad ( Mountains) and before July gets over here’s your chance to explore everything Himachali at Tamra restaurant of Hotel Shangri-La that’s hosting a pop up for 3 days curated by Chef Roopesh from Chef Pin
While it’s always fun exploring the food around in Delhi NCR but I always look forward to events , pop ups and menu curations that gives me an opportunity to have a conversation with the Chef , clear out my doubts , learn from them and enhance my culinary knowledge, get tips and tricks to replicate a recipe and trust me it’s my way of filling my heart and mind while I fill my tummy.
Here you can meet the Chef who has curated this Himachali Food pop up , that brings the authentic recipes and dishes from Himachal to Delhi creating an absolute Vegetarian delight.
Here are my 2 key take away from this Pop up by Chef Pin. For the first time I tried the Himachali version of our Punjabi Bhatura that’s not made of Maida but of whole-wheat flour and the size is almost everyone’s favourite Poori and this mini Bhatura is called as #Bhaturo and trust me this is really a guilt free indulgence, that tastes so good and I am contemplating to replace the Bhatura with this Bhaturo for my kids at home.
Now coming to the 2nd thing- Desserts adds to the sweetness that we are missing in our life and the closest to giving you a high in any meal , the most authentic, simple yet delicious Dessert here that we got was Badne Ka meetha and while I was taking it in a bowl, Chef Roopesh came to me and asked me to Add steaming hot rice to it and trust me 1:2 ratio of rice made this magical and these tips can only come from a Chef.
So now you know what you can do over the weekend. So go ahead and exploreplore everything Himachal at this Food Pop up at Shangri-La New Delhi and thank me later.
I tried himachali dhaam on 27th july. It was an amazing experience and also chef Roopesh explained about the dishes.
