Wholewheat & Gram flour Burfi

When it comes to Indian sweets, i love making them more than anything. Most of the time it reminds me of my mother making it and rest I personally love every Indian sweets.

So today I am going to use the leftover from the Ghee making ( I mix half a bowl of Wholewheat flour while making ghee ), this Leftover mixture of Ghee and Whole wheat flour is an excellent base for making cake , halwa and Sweets.

The benefit of using this is ,I don’t have to add any Ghee in the recipe and is healthy too. So let’s have a look at the ingredients.

1. 1 bowl Ghee leftover ( wholewheat + Ghee residue )

2. 1 Bowl Besan ( Gram flour )

3. 3/4 bowl Jaggery powder or Piece of Jaggery

4. Handful Almond, Raisins & Cardamoms -2

Since my kids don’t like the almonds as chunks so have grounded the almonds with cardamom to make a fine powder.

Recipe :

First in a pan dry roast the Gram flour, I have not used any oil/Ghee in roasting as the Ghee residue has sufficient ghee.

Once the gram flour turns almost light brown, add the Wholewheat flour and mix well. Let the ghee from mix well. Now add your almond, raisins and the cardamom powder.

If you have taken a piece of Jaggery than add water to it ( half a bowl ) and microwave it to melt the jaggery

Mix the jaggery syrup and stir well as it binds well. After a minute of stirring, you can transfer this to a plate and tap it to level it, and then cut into pieces with a knife and leave it to cool down.

After 2 hours separate the piece you have marked with the knife. Tada your Whole wheat atta & Besan burfi is ready

Enjoy this healthy and yummy burfi , this is very good for regular consumption in winters, while summers should have only occasionally.
