East Delhi off late has become the place that houses some really cool places in form of fine dine restaurants and cafes at the Hotels. So while I am always looking for something nearer to my place to step out for Dinner. This place while I get down from DND flyover was on my list for quite sometime and finally I could make it out on the Eve of EId.
CafeOn3 is on third floor as the names already states that loud and clear at Holiday inn Mayur vihar. Nicely spread buffet dinner with a lot of options
Starters : Probably each one always have some favorite in this segment and CafeOn3 did complete justice to the weather outside with the Bhujiya corner that was serving freshly fried Bhujiya and the variety was outstanding.
A chef is always at the counter to help you with your curated bahjiya plate, hot and crispy pakoras served with green chutney and Onion.
Sprinkled with chat masala – the taste enhancer , this plate was just love.
Dahi Bhalla Papri chat is my second favorite from the street food and so this was another thing for me
Nothing is as heavenly as the soft Bhalla dipped in freshly wipped curd topped with green and red chutney.
Soups and Salads
Well I am always confused after starters to go for this or move to main course directly.
On display were 2 options veg and non veg – Cream of vegetable and Ghost Yakani sorba.
Salad & Dessert counters are always the most beautiful looking , and here they were super loaded.
Now in Main course I would like to specifically speak of 3 things that I loved and probably the most recommended as well for vegetarians.
# Rogni Kadhal : Jackfruit ( Kadhal ) happens to be my favorite vegetable. But not even one makes it right. And this is the best version of Restaurant Kadhal I had so far. Rich and thick gravy this is must to have.
# Dal : Moong Dal is always termed as the dal of sick people. Not anymore, try this Moong Dal at Cafe on3 and you will never look down at Moong Dal. This is a slow cooked version of Moong Dal that is cooked in milk and tempered with indian spices to give it the flavor.
# Jarda Pulav : Sweetened aromatic rice cooked with loads of dry fruits. Won’t recommend to some one who doesn’t like sweet rice else it’s a must try.
And now comes the most interesting part of the food – Desserts
Since it was EID – The EID dastoor was done right with sweet sibayiyaan. And mango moose was yumm. And Phirni has no match when chilled and served in a earthen pot, there were a dozen of other sweet dishes as well to opt for.
Overall a great experience and I visited this place with kids and therefore I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner date or a family dinner.
