Lohri Farzified at Farzi Cafe

Lohri is a South Asian bonfire festival and a seasonal celebration which originated in Punjab, North India. Falls on 13th of January every year , a day before Makra Sankranti. This date marks the coldest day in northern India and the winter solstice – the shortest day and longest night – as well as the start of the harvest season.

So when you have such a small day you have to do what you wish to do quickly and have a great good night sleep. My way of making a day worth it is , to pick a place that serves you good food , as food makes for every celebration as a special day. So here I am at Farzi Cafe having the Lohri special Menu , and trust me a Lohri lunch with a curated menu is a great way of having a Happy Lohri.

Bhuttia Aur Palak k tinke Rs. 295/-

This looked so close to the Lohri fire from the evening , Skewers of sweet corn and Spinach on Bamboo. Plated on the potato chips and sauce giving the flame looks this was amazing on taste. the sheeks made from corn and Spinach was really yummy.

Matka cholley with Luchi Puff Rs. 435/- This was love at first sight for the Puri lover like me. The Luchi just adds to the entire beauty of having Sada Pindy chole – Tangy preparations of chickpeas. And this tangy light spiced dish finds a partner Luchi from Bengal ( Luchi is a deep fried bread , made from refined flour ). And the fried potatoes streak and chilli ads to the taste making it yumm yumm.

Bathua Sarson Ka Saag , Makai Moli Pide Rs. 365/-

It can’t be a Punjabi celebration if we don’t have a Makai ki roti and sarso da saag. So as it has to be farzified if it’s to be served at Farzi. Sarso ka saag meets Bathua another green from winter vegetables, to form a combination of regional leafy greens cooked with ghee served with Ghee, hung curd and Diced Raddish , with a boat shape made of chickpeas. and it was an awesome flavorsome ride. And a must try too. Go Desi and break it with your hands and relish as you like.

After satiating meal I am all set for the dessert s and this place has something very innovative and here it is

Rewari Gajjak Peanut Butter Ice , Caramel Popcorns Rs. 325/-

Here’s something that would let the lohri linger a little longer with an after taste. Homemade crispies of Jaggery ,sugar, nuts, sesame and peanut butter ice cream served with caramel popcorn.

I had a great Lohri lunch at Farzi,If you liked an ounce of it or if could relate to Lohri, you must try out this menu today.

Happy Lohri to you All.

A self proclaimed storyteller who loves food and is a health freak to the core. A person who has got a sense of humor to lighten up the most serious stuff. i love the life as it comes, planning is not my cup of tea since i am coffee lover. I brew my own jokes in all situations and love being my own audience. Happy go lucky is the attitude that i carry around. and i stay away from people who throw attitude(cant understand why they carry the weight of their attitude when all they can do is to throw it on others )
